The University aims to secure structural gender equality in a competitive and forward-looking manner. To help meet this goal, the Chancellor and the Chancellor’s Office work closely with neighbouring employers and other universities in the surrounding urban centres of Nürnberg, Fürth, Erlangen and Schwabach to offer wide-ranging support for couples who are both pursuing a career.
Central to this is a measure to introduce the partners of top-class academics at the University to the local job market. This includes access to a variety of current vacancies, and comprehensive support in finding a suitable position. Contact can be established with a broad group of potential employers both within the University and from the surrounding area. Advice is given to partners on developing a career in academia, on continuing education and on job applications.
The Dual Career Service also provides helpful information, useful contacts and services to help with relocation to the greater Nuremberg region: from organizing childcare facilities and schools, to finding accommodation. To guarantee a comprehensive service, the Dual Career Service works in close cooperation with the local authorities and with other University services, such as:
- Student Advisory Centre and Careers Service
- Family Services
- Association for the Promotion of University Families and Research
The Chancellor of the University should be your initial point of contact.
